Activities and Outings
The Probus Club of Belgrave has a range of activities to meet the needs of the members and these are regularly reviewed to ensure the Club remains vibrant and relevant.
Chat & Chew Coffee Club
Members meet at a different local cafe every 3rd Thursday of the month for an informal chat over a light lunch and coffee. These mornings are a wonderful way to meet informally and expand our friendships.
Cinema Group
Members meet at our local Cameo Theatre to view as a group the latest films.
Depending on the time of the film this is usually followed or preceded by afternoon tea. These events are usually on a Monday and occur monthly.
Day Trips
As we are a ‘Thursday’ group our activity leader researches day trips of interest for the months where we have a fifth Thursday, i.e. four times a year. We visit such places as historic homes and gardens, and places of interest in Melbourne and our local regions. Our recent trips have included The Blue Lotus Gardens, the MCG and Sports Museum, the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens, The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens (including the Chelsea Australian Garden).
Dine Outs
Throughout the year monthly dine-outs are arranged at local Hotels and Clubs with a variety of cuisines and value for money. These are lunchtime events and occur on every 4th Thursday of the month. Many of our members participate in these dine-outs which offer wonderful fellowship opportunities for all members and guests.
Walking Group
For the nimble and also those who are not so nimble we walk every Friday morning at the beautiful Birdland Reserve in Belgrave. Our walk caters for those who want a serious walk or those who prefer something more gentle. The hour or so coffee and chat that follows is often the best part of the walk.
Extended Trips and Tours
Each year the social convenor arranges an extended tour of about five days duration. In recent years these popular trips have all been held in various places around Victoria. Our last three trips have been to Wangaratta and surrounds, Halls Gap and Apollo Bay.
